Inside Line Promotions – BRANDON, S.D. (May 19, 2025) – Jack Dover took positives out of a night when he finished just outside of the top 10.
The Tim Estenson Motorsports competitor qualified fourth quickest in his group and placed second in a heat race to garner the 11th starting position in the Midwest Sprint Touring Series 410 Sprint Cars main event on Sunday at Huset’s Speedway.
Dover climbed into the top 10 on the opening lap, but a caution negated the start. The second attempt didn’t go as well as Dover fell to 14th in the first half of the race before rallying to an 11th-place result.
“Taking the good out of the night, I tried some stuff with the engine that we haven’t tried with taking horsepower away for when the track is slick,” he said. “Also, we went more aggressive with making the car tighter and it wasn’t enough so we know we can go more. So it was a good learning night. The results don’t show it, but we learned a lot.”
Dover is tied for fourth in the Huset’s Speedway championship standings – only 14 points out of the lead.
Sunday’s show was the only race of the weekend as Dover’s plan to invade Wisconsin for a doubleheader was thwarted by weather. This weekend will showcase four straight nights of racing. It begins on Friday at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn. That race and an event on Saturday at Dakota State Fair Speedway in Huron, S.D., are sanctioned with the Midwest Sprint Touring Series 410 Sprint Cars. Huset’s Speedway hosts a doubleheader on Sunday and Monday.
“It’s very exciting,” Dover said. “The more I get in the car the better I should be. I was looking forward to doing three days last weekend, but Mother Nature had other plans. I feel like I’m doing a little better every night. As a driver, I’m getting more aggressive, getting up against the cushion, etc. Right now the focus is making the car more comfortable for me to do my job and four opportunities to do that next weekend is beneficial.”
