Rocket1 Racing Enjoys Consistent Show-Me 100 Weekend in Wheatland
Team Sets Sights on Eldora’s Dirt Late Model Dream
SHINNSTON, W.Va. (05/27/25) – As the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series season heats up, Brandon Sheppard collected a trio of top-10 finishes in the 33rd annual Show-Me 100 at Lucas Oil Speedway aboard the Valvoline / Seubert Calf Ranches No. 1 Rocket1 Racing / Ace Metal Works / XR1 Rocket Chassis / Durham Racing Engine Super Late Model.
With the Memorial Day weekend event marking the second round of the Arizona Sport Shirts Crown Jewel Cup, Sheppard posted eighth- and sixth-place finishes in Thursday and Friday’s preliminary features, respectively, before capping the weekend with a ninth-place run in Saturday’s Show-Me 100 finale.
“It might not show as a win on paper, but it was a really solid weekend for our team,” Sheppard said. “We’re continuing to build speed, and that’s something we can build on. It was also awesome to see our crew win the pit crew challenge—they’re always busting their butts, so it’s great to see them get rewarded. I can’t thank them enough for all their hard work, including everyone back at the shop.”
The three-day weekend at the pristine Lucas Oil Speedway in Missouri kicked off Thursday with the Cowboy Classic.
Sheppard opened the event with a runner-up finish in his heat race before advancing two positions in the feature to register an eighth-place finish.
Returning Friday for the Don & Billie Gibson Tribute, Sheppard once again claimed a second-place finish in his heat. He went on to gain a position in the 40-lap preliminary feature, crossing the line in sixth.
Carrying his consistency into Saturday, Sheppard capped the weekend with a ninth-place finish in the $75,000-to-win Show-Me 100 finale.
Off the track, Rocket1 Racing added another highlight as the team captured a $10,000 bonus by winning the Hellraizer Jacks Pit Crew Challenge on Saturday afternoon. The crew also received a Champions Edition jack for clocking the fastest stop during the competition.
