Brandon Sheppard Notches 10th-Place Finish in Dirt Late Model Dream
Readies for LOLMDS Doubleheader at Smoky Mountain Speedway
SHINNSTON, W.Va. (06/09/25) – Brandon Sheppard capped a competitive week at Eldora Speedway with a 10th-place finish in Saturday’s Dirt Late Model Dream finale behind the wheel of the Valvoline / Seubert Calf Ranches No. 1 Rocket1 Racing / Ace Metal Works / XR1 Rocket Chassis / Durham Racing Engine Super Late Model.
Consistency defined the weekend for the New Berlin, Ill., native, who followed up a 12th-place performance in Wednesday’s opener with his strongest run of the week—a seventh-place finish in Friday’s preliminary feature.
“The consistency was there; we just need to do better as the night progresses,” Sheppard said. “It would’ve been nice to end the weekend with a win, but we made some progress, and I’m proud of my team’s effort. Big thanks to all the fans who stopped by our trailer and picked up some apparel—it really helps a lot.”
The action began Wednesday with 85 teams checking in for the FloRacing Night in America presented by Kubota program at the half-mile Ohio oval. After slipping one spot to finish fifth in his heat, Sheppard secured the final transfer position in his B-Main to earn a starting spot in the feature. Rolling off from the 14th row, he charged forward 16 positions in the 40-lap main event to finish 12th.
With the 31st annual Dirt Late Model Dream split into twin preliminary nights, Sheppard competed in Friday’s program, locking into the main event with a heat race win. Racing for a $30,000 top prize, he notched a solid seventh-place finish.
Returning on Saturday, Sheppard earned a second-row starting spot for his heat and raced to a 15-lap victory, cementing a spot in the $100,000-to-win finale. He rounded out the week with a 10th-place result in the 100-lap main event.

Sheppard and the Rocket1 Racing team return to Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) action this weekend as Tennessee’s Smoky Mountain Speedway hosts the two-day Mountain Moonshine Classic. The event opens with a $10,000-to-win preliminary feature on Friday, followed by Saturday’s 50-lap finale, which pays $30,000 to the winner.
Sheppard is currently in seventh in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
