Third-place finish in Praire Dirt Classic prelim
Jason Feger was among 66 Super Late Model drivers who converged on Fairbury Speedway on Wednesday afternoon as the FloRacing Night in America miniseries’ One for the Road event launched the 35th annual Prairie Dirt Classic weekend.
Using Wednesday’s program as a tune-up, Feger transferred into the $20,000-to-win A-Main with a third-place finish in his heat race. He gained five spots in the 50-lap affair to notch a solid ninth-place finish.
Returning to the track on Friday with a spot in Saturday’s finale on the line, Feger posted third-place finish in his 25-lap showdown feature, locking into the weekend’s $50,000-to-win main event.
Starting from the sixth row in Saturday’s 100-lap finale, Feger steadily worked his way forward, reaching fourth by lap 37 and maintaining a top-five position deep into the race. However, a broken oil line fitting ended his night prematurely on lap 77 while running fifth, bringing a strong run to an unfortunate close.
