Born and raised in Las Cruces, New Mexico, 13-year-old Luke Vargas is already making a name for himself on the dirt track scene. Growing up in a racing family, speed and competition are in his blood. His father, Pete Vargas, has a long history in both drag racing and dirt track racing, and that passion for motorsports has clearly passed down to the next generation.

Now in his second season behind the wheel of the 777x Late Model, Luke Vargas is showing impressive talent and maturity beyond his years. In 2025, he experienced his first rollover in the Late Model, a moment that might shake many young drivers-but not him. Just one race later, he bounced back with a strong 3rd place finish in a brand-new car, proving he has the resilience and drive it takes to go far in this sport.

A true multisport athlete, Luke Vargas doesn't stop at racing. He's also active in baseball, football, and basketball, and his competitive edge shows up in everything he does-from team sports to tearing up the track on dirt bikes and racing RC cars.
