My name is Katie, and I am from Alabaster, Alabama but I moved to Jemison, AL back in 2012. My full name is Katelyn Omega.... Omega being my Great Grandma's middle name too! When I'm not racing, you can find me at work, in the shop working on the race car because Lord knows I hit everything in plain sight tearing stuff up or I'll be sitting somewhere listening to my friend sing! My race car is a 1985 Monte Carlo, and her name is Fancy and yes, she's named after the song by Reba. Racing is all I've ever known, my dad raced my whole life and now I am beyond blessed to get to race with some of the guys who I grew up watching behind the fence line. At two years old I was telling people I was going to have a "Vroom Vroom" one day, 15 years later it happened! At 17 I got a job working at Mcdonald's. I worked about 40 hours a week all while in school and still had all As and Bs and graduated with honor roll! I missed plenty of things such as plenty of race nights and prom and other school events just because I wanted a race car, but it all ended up being worth it! I didn't know what I was getting myself into because I quit everything, I started I'm not even going to lie, I just took a leap of faith and bought the car and just hoped it wasn't going to something I've put so much time and money into just to turn around and quit. Three years later and there have been times I've wanted to quit and give up, but I always remind myself of why I'm doing it. Most people do it as a hobby, but I want to make a name for myself and prove the haters and doubters wrong!
