Overton invades Smoky Mountain Speedway for Tennessee Tipoff

Less than a month after the birth of his daughter, Brandon Overton returned to the driver's seat of the Riggs Motorsports Longhorn Factory Team No. 76 Late Model on Friday evening for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series doubleheader at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.).

Drawing 45 entries for the Tennessee Tipoff, Overton missed a transfer spot by one car in his heat, however, was able to qualify for the opener with a consolation victory. With a $12,000 payday up for grabs in Friday’s preliminary, Brandon salvaged an 18th-place outing.

Saturday’s Tennessee Tipoff finale was cancelled due to severe weather threatening the area.
