Ward notches top-10 finish with SLMR at Huset's Speedway
A busy week in South Dakota brought Tim Ward to the premier Huset’s Speedway, where he competed across three different series over four consecutive days.
Ward opened his week on Wednesday with the Repairable Vehicles.com Tri-State Series during the Ben Nothdurft Memorial. After participating in hot laps, he was sidelined for the remainder of the event.
Shifting to the Malvern Bank West Series on Thursday and Friday, Ward locked into Friday’s $6,053-to-win A-Main with a sixth-place heat race finish during Thursday’s preliminary program. Starting 15th in the 30-lap feature, he charged forward seven positions to record a solid eighth-place finish.
With a track-added bonus on Saturday, Ward extended his stay to make his debut with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series during the final night of the 15th annual Silver Dollar Nationals. Handicapped by an underpowered motor, he ended the night on a high note by advancing three spots to finish seventh in his consolation race, just four positions shy of transferring into the $75,000-to-win Silver Dollar Nationals finale.
