Ethan Dotson captures first World of Outlaws triumph at Farmer City Raceway
Arrowhead Speedway’s Fujita 50 On Deck for ASD Motorsports
AUGUSTA, Ga. (04/14/25) – Ethan Dotson etched his name into the national spotlight over the weekend, capturing his first career national touring victory with $10,000 preliminary payday in Friday’s Illini 100 opener at Farmer City Raceway aboard the ASD Motorsports / Jarrett Rifles No. 74x Longhorn Chassis Late Model.
The World of Outlaws Late Model Series victory not only marked Ethan Dotson’s first win of the 2025 season, but also intensified the MD3 Rookie of the Year battle, narrowing the gap between him and fellow contender Drake Troutman.
“I felt like I kind of let one slip away at Volusia and just kind of struggled the last couple weeks,” Dotson said. “I can’t thank (team owner) John Henderson enough for not firing me. I think he might have thought about it a couple times. I tore up so much s— this year, and (the team) just never quit on me.”
Dotson and the ASD Motorsports team unloaded No. 74X Longhorn Chassis at Farmer City (Ill.) Raceway on Friday afternoon for the opening round of the Illini 100 weekend.
Facing a stout 42-car field with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series, Ethan Dotson opened his night with the fifth-fastest qualifying time in his group before finishing third in his heat race. Rolling off ninth for the feature, Dotson wasted little time charging through the field and found himself in contention near the race’s midpoint. He inherited the point on lap 14 after the early front-runner was collected in a tangle with a lapped car. From there, Dotson held off a late charge from Ricky Thornton Jr. to secure the $12,000 payday and his first career World of Outlaws Late Model Series win.
After Friday’s win, Ethan Dotson’s weekend took a tougher turn during Saturday’s Illini 100 finale. Forced to take a provisional into the $20,000-to-win main event, the California native posted a 22nd-place finish in the 60-lap affair.
Dotson’s triumph on Friday vaulted him to fifth in the overall World of Outlaws Late Model Series standings and solidified his position as the runner-up in the MD3 Rookie of the Year chase.

With momentum on their side, Dotson and the ASD Motorsports team now turn their attention to the upcoming weekend in Oklahoma, where they’ll tackle a Comp Cams Super Dirt Series doubleheader at Arrowhead Speedway. Action begins Friday with a $5,000-to-win preliminary, leading into Saturday’s Fujita 50 finale, which boasts a $10,000 winner’s purse.
