6th-place result for Christian at Texas Spring Nationals
On Friday evening, Gary Christian competed in a 43-car Summit USMTS Modified field at Rocket Raceway Park in Petty, Texas. He finished with a strong top-10 result in the 15th annual Texas Spring Nationals as the series raced in the Lone Star State for the second consecutive weekend.
Christian claimed third in his heat race aboard his Smith Equipment Company No 58x Modified, starting him ninth in the $5,000-to-win main event. Despite struggling with the car's balance throughout the night, he came home sixth in the 40-lap feature on the 3/8-mile oval.
A second scheduled $5,000-to-win USMTS program at the track on Saturday was rained out.
Christian currently occupies the eighth spot in the early-season USMTS point standings.
