I-80 Never Disappoints
Made the trip to I-80 Speedway on Friday night. Always look forward to a trip to this place, as its an amazing facility for racers and the fans as well. The weather was perfect. Still very much a learning process for me in the Sport Mod, feel like each time, I learn a bit more. Had a really good race with Shawn Harker in the heat race and finished 2nd to him. Lined up for the A Feature in the 1st row outside, had another great battle with Shawn Harker and then fell back to 3rd which is where I finished. Still have more to learn about this class and maybe not over drive it so much, (Easier said than done). Pleased with our performance and as is the norm, engine performed perfect. Our engine program is at the top and I'm proud to be able to say that.
Saturday took the sport mod to Beatrice Speedway for their practice day. Ran quite a few laps and was able to try some things, laps ran are the only way to figure this thing out. Really excited to be able to see Jaxson Saathoff run some of his 1st laps in an A mod, looking forward to seeing him and supporting him as he gets his feet wet in a very tough field of cars, wish him all the best. Then we went up to Eagle Raceway and helped out Jet Saturday night, John has done so much for me and gave me a number of opportunities over the years so its really nice to try and give a little something back to him. Each one of us, is in a different place for what we want from our racing, it feels good to just go and race or just go watch and help out someone else. No pressure is not a bad thing.
