Prunty Wins Johnson & Sons Paving Remembrance Night

Slinger, Wis., June 1—Zach Prunty took the lead on a late restart
and held off Evan Hassler and Jesse Bernhagen to win the Johnson and
Sons Paving Remembrance Night 55-lap Uptown Motor Cars late model
feature Sunday night at the Slinger Speedway.

“It’s been a long time coming to get here and set fast and get a
feature win on the same night,” Prunty said from victory lane,
“honestly, it feels great.”

“It was a great long run to start there and I did need a caution
there so I can’t really complain,” Prunty continued after advancing from
his tenth starting position to fourth in the opening 37 green flag laps
before a trio of cautions allowed him to take the lead from Evan Hassler
using the inside lane on a restart, “Normally I don’t like cautions
because I have a better long run car but we got it done tonight.”
“We had a short run car here but it just didn’t work,” second place
finisher Evan Hassler said afterwards, “I tried to get Zach (Prunty) the
right way but just couldn’t do it. It’s pretty cool to do what we do.
We’re a low budget team and I pay for everything on this car myself
and it feels pretty cool to get a second place.”

“The car was fast and if we were able to catch the cautions right
and get out front I don’t think they could’ve passed us,” Jesse
Bernhagen stated after his third-place result directly in the tire tracks of
the top two finishers, “But I don’t think we were good enough to pass
them without moving them. That last lap got exciting on the
backstretch and I was able to jump to the outside of Evan (Hassler) but
just couldn’t quite get it done.”

Behind the top three, Jon Reynolds Jr. finished in the fourth
position just ahead of Ryan Gutknecht who finished fifth. Billy Braun
finished sixth while Jayden Johnson was seventh followed by Tom
Berens in eighth. Simon Seyfert and Jacob Vanoskey completed the top
ten in ninth and tenth respectively. Zach Prunty was the fastest of the

Mueller to win the Raceway Bar and Grill 602 crater division 35-lap
main event. Al Stippich finished a close third right behind the top two
while Alex Lopacinski finished fourth and Dan Thomson was fifth. Alex
Lopacinski was the winner of the 602 crater heat race over Al Stippich
and Justin Poenitsch while Stippich was the fastest qualifier after
turning in a lap time of 11.843 seconds.

super beez feature over Carl Benn and Tyler Muller. Paul Reagles took
the checkered flag in fourth place while Al Strobel finished fifth. Stark
also set fast time for the division after circling the speedway in 13.279
seconds.

Ayrton Brockhouse held off a hard charging Dillon Schwanbeck to
win the 25-lap Great North legends feature. Grant Hooker finished third
followed by Lincoln Cain and Carter Stein in fourth and fifth place
respectively. Great North legends heat races were won by Art Hahn and
Ayrton Brockhouse while Dillon Schwanbeck set fast time with a lap
time of 13.342 seconds.

Oldenhoff finished second followed by Lincoln Johnson in third and Ace
Oldenhoff in fourth. Mason Obermeyer was fifth. Grant Hooker won
the bandolero semi-feature over Wyatt Schellinger, Zadale Demeny,
