Top 10 Finish in Hell Tour Action at Spoon River Speedway

Kolby Vandenbergh returned with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals Hell Tour on Monday night at Spoon River Speedway (Canton, Illinois). With 23 Super Late Models registered in for action, Vandenbergh recorded the third fastest time in his qualifying group before jumping up one spot in his heat race to place 2nd behind Tyler Erb. Hanging on to a Top-10 finish in the feature, Kolby dropped four spots in the 40-lap affair registering a 9th place finish.

After losing Tuesday’s event at Charleston Speedway (Charleston, Illinois) to bad weather, Kolby followed the Hell Tour to La Salle Speedway (LaSalle, Illinois) on Thursday for the $5,000-to-win A-Main. In a field of 34 cars, Kolby edged his way into the show with the 4th and final transfer spot in his heat race. Starting in 13th, Vandenbergh held his spot for all 41-laps notching a 13th place outing.

On Saturday night Vandenbergh returned with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals Hell Tour for the $10,000 top prize at Federated Raceway at I-55 (Pevely, Missouri). Drawing 33 cars for the 11th stop of the tour, Kolby recorded a 7th place finish in his heat giving him one more shot at the $10,000-to-win A-Main with a B-Main appearance. Needing to place in the Top-2, Vandenbergh fell short with a 7th place finish.
