Tennessee Racer Adds Second Win of 2025

GATLINBURG, Tenn. (04/29/25) – Patience proved to be the winning strategy for Pierce McCarter on Saturday night, as the mid-race surge propelled to him to his second win of the season at Volunteer Speedway aboard his Jim Beeman Lumber / HR Concrete Solutions No. 71 MasterSbilt Race Car Late Model.

McCarter, who claimed the overall fast time honors in qualifying, tracked down outside front-row starter Colby Horner on lap 11 of the feature and ran away with the Sportsman Late Model victory.

“We had a bit of a rough start early on,” McCarter admitted. “The car felt strong in qualifying, but I struggled to carry that speed into the feature. Fortunately, my crew gave me a great piece, and I was able to take advantage of it. I can’t thank them enough for all their hard work tonight.”

McCarter made the 60-mile trek to Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tenn.) on Saturday afternoon to pilot his McCarter Brothers Racing No. 71 Late Model for the track’s weekly program.

Against a stout 22-car field, set the tone early by clocking the fastest lap in qualifying, earning the pole position for the night’s A-Main. Although he briefly lost the lead at the drop of the green, McCarter regrouped and reclaimed the top spot on lap 11. From there, he held off a persistent challenge from Colby Horner over the final circuits to notch his second victory of the 2025 season.

McCarter edged out Colby Horner by a narrow 0.201-second margin at the finish line, while Ross White completed the podium in third.
