Ashton Winger runs into tough luck during Dirt Late Model Dream at Eldora Speedway
Sporting a Freddy Smith Throwback look for the weekend, Ashton Winger unloaded his special No. 00 machine at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Wednesday evening to kick off the 31st-running of the Dirt Late Model Dream.
Starting things off with the FloRacing show, Winger qualified 15th in his stacked group and finished fourth in a heat race before he fell back in his B-Main and recorded a DNF.
On his preliminary night, Ashton started seventh in his heat race and was making up ground when a mechanical failure sidelined him. Buried in a B-Main, Winger did not start and missed the $30,000-to-win preliminary.
The Mathews Motorsports team loaded up early and did not compete on Saturday.
