Oakley Johns races at Sugar Creek and Smoky Mountain in HTF Series doubleheader
On Friday afternoon, Oakley Johns kicked off a doubleheader weekend through the Appalachian Mountains as the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series invaded Sugar Creek Raceway (Blue Ridge, Ga.) for a $8,000-to-win show.
After finishing 17th in the weekend opener, Johns turned to Saturday's $15,000-to-win show at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.) where he grabbed a transfer spot in his heat race and recorded a 16th-place outing in the 50-lap feature.
Oakley still leads the Rookie of the Year chase with the tour.
