Timms impresses in 2025 season opener with Liebig Motorsports at Volusia
Ryan Timms and the Liebig Motorsports team invaded Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Fla.) this past week to kick off the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series campaign with the 54th annual Federated DIRTcar Nationals.
With a stacked field of 52 Sprinters crammed in the pit area, Timms secured the final transfer spot in his heat race to advance to Wednesday's opener. Starting from 18th, Timms mounted a strong run, gaining six positions to ultimately finish 12th in the first race of the four-race slate.
Ryan faced a slower start in his heat race on Thursday but bounced back as the night progressed. After claiming a victory in the consolation race, Timms passed 11 cars in the 25-lap feature to place 10th.
On Friday, Timms followed up a runner-up run in his heat race with a seventh-place finish in the dash. With a $12,000 payday up for grabs in the feature, Ryan delivered his best performance of the week, climbing two spots to claim a fifth-place finish. He crossed the line behind Kyle Larson, Christopher Bell, David Gravel, and Brad Sweet.
Timms capped off the 54th DIRTcar Nationals on Saturday with an impressive 19th-to-6th run in the $25,000-to-win finale. His strong performance earned him his second KSE Racing Products Hard Charger award of the week.
