Sorensen scores Top-5 outing in King of America at Lucas Oil Speedway
Back behind the wheel of his No. 19 Modified for the weekend, Dustin Sorensen was one of 72 United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) entries at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) for the three-day King of America.
Sorensen improved every night of competition, finishing 29th in the first preliminary feature on Thursday before recording an 11th-place outing in Friday's preliminary feature. Dustin raced his way into the $20,000-to-win main event on Saturday with a runner-up finish in his B-Main.
Dustin started 12th in the 60-lapper and wound up just off the podium in fourth. He trailed Cade Dillard, Jim Chisholm, and Bobby Williams while Tanner Mullens completed the Top-5.
