California RaceSaver Sprints
Building a Future Together: One Race, One Team, One Dream
Every week, as I sit down to write, my head fills with thoughts, ideas, and updates—each one circling back to a simple truth: We’re building something special here.
When I took on the challenge of reviving the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Series in California, I knew it wouldn’t be easy. This series had nearly disappeared, and the path forward wasn’t clearly marked. But here we are, two races into 2025, and already, we’re gaining momentum.
We had 15 cars at our first race. 12 at our second. And on May 17th at Tulare Thunderbowl, I’m hopeful we’ll see 15 or more again. That may not sound like a lot compared to the bigger series out east or in the Midwest, but let’s be real, this is a revival, not a reset. We are bringing it back from near extinction. That’s no small feat.
I know what it’s like. long off-seasons, low car counts, the frustration of trying to shake off the rust only to park the car again for weeks. I hear you. I’ve been there. But I also know the thrill of racing, the camaraderie in the pits, and the deep roots of sprint car passion that run through our racing families. That’s why I believe this is worth fighting for.
Let’s not forget: California once had a thriving RaceSaver scene. We had fans in the stands, cars on the track, and nights where the energy was electric. That spirit isn’t gone, it’s just waiting to be reignited. And I believe we are the ones to do it.
Yes, there are hurdles. We're not flush with tracks, and traveling far without sponsor support isn’t feasible yet. But these are temporary roadblocks, not dead ends. Opportunities are starting to come in. Northern and Southern California tracks, even out-of-state invites. We're just not at the tipping point, yet.
It’s frustrating when local IMCA-sanctioned tracks overlook sprint cars. I get it. But we’re not here to complain, we’re here to create change. If a track runs an IMCA Championship Night, let’s make sure all IMCA divisions, including RaceSavers, have a seat at the table. This isn’t about stirring the pot, it’s about reminding people what we bring to the show.
We’ve got loyal, hard working teams, blue-collar racers who juggle work, family, and their love of the sport. We don’t have deep pockets, but we have deep hearts. That’s what makes us different. That’s what makes this series real.
Let me take a moment to thank the ones who’ve stood by us. Our title sponsor, Quick Change Liquid Energy, has been with us from day one. Their commitment has fueled this comeback. And to BR Motorsports, Sidewaze Designs, Rugged Radios, and MyRacePass, your belief in our mission means everything. If you’re reading this, give them a shout-out. Tag them. Share their stories. Let them know their support matters, because it truly does.
Looking ahead, I’m excited. I see speedweeks. I see traveling shows. I see partnerships with other series, bigger purses, more race dates, and new faces in the pits. But most of all, I see a community that believes in this dream. And we’ll get there, together.
So, to the teams, the fans, the sponsors, and the families: Thank you. Keep showing up. Keep sharing the message. Keep believing in what we’re building.
And no matter where this road takes us, never forget the people who were there in the beginning, the ones who supported you, stood beside you, and believed in something bigger.
Let’s go racing.
Let’s build a legacy.
Let’s bring RaceSavers back, stronger than ever.
