Inaugural Antioch Race

A quick summary of the 05/31/2025 Antioch race:
Qualified: 8th
Heat Race: 3rd
Main Event: 6th

Interesting day and an interesting track, to be sure - we found out there is no really "good" way to get to Antioch Speedway by PROmotions from Kingsburg, but our GPS provided for an adventure - both going over AND coming home!! Its about a 3 hour journey, in any case.

At the track, some of the other classes we were running with plowed the track pretty well, and we ended up with a pretty technical racing surface - nearly worthy of a mouthguard and a kidney belt ????. I can't help but think the CASM system we're running helped out a lot with the terrain, as I'm not feeling at all beat up today - even though I'm the old guy (thanks Alicia and Brian Garges).

We struggled a bit early on getting ahold of the track, and finding the best way around, but by the Main we made all the right changes and had something to work with - many thanks to the guys busting their butts during our first really hot day of 2025 - Myrel, Todd, and Mark! Anyhow, we started making some progress through the Main and figuring out how to get around without bouncing out of the park, and it was going really well until, wait for it, my right foot LOST the throttle pedal coming out of turn 2 - it just bounced right off - an absolute first for me. After a second that felt like an hour, I got my foot out from underneath the pedal and proceeded...but sheesh - any chance we had of catching 5th disappeared..and that was the race.

The bull rings like this are a lot of fun in the 305s, but man, when the tracks get that rutted up, it's a real challenge for our guys - good job to Kyle Rasmussen on the win!

Stay tuned for more news, pics, and reels!!!
