Raidart Dominates WingLESS Border Battles At Wilmot Raceway
(Wilmot, Wis., Friday, May 30, 2025)--Zach Raidart of Gurnee, IL, defending AutoMeter Wisconsin WingLESS Sprints Powered By Gandrud Performance Champion, finally cracked the top 10, top five and win column all at once scoring a dominating victory in the 20-lap Border Battle with the American Sprint Car Tour Friday, May 30, at Wilmot Raceway.
Raidart shot off to the lead from his front row outside starting berth, pulling away to a win by over 2.5 seconds runner-up and fellow front row starter Rusty Egan of Round Lake Heights, IL. Tim Cox of Park City, IL, 64-year-old veteran and two-time series champion in 2022 & 2018, came across third.
Bristol's Chris Klemko along with fourth place Allen Hafford of Beach Park, IL and fifth John Fahl of Brown Deer made for a wild finish with those three along with Cox coming across less than eight-tenths of a second total apart.
Hartland's Seth Johnson earned the Behling Race Equipment Hard Charger Award moving up 8 positions from his 17th starting spot to a top 10 finish in ninth.
A jubilant Raidart had the third time come through as the charm, appreciative of his team, sponsors and fans who stuck behind him after a opening night DNF on May 3 and 17th place finish on May 24.
Miles Doherty of Delmar, IA won the Auto Meter "B" Main. Jake Kouba of Farmington, MN, in his first series start of the season, scored the Fox Lake Harbor presents All Star Performance Heat 1 win. Adam Taylor of Wheatfield, IN took the Game Day Men's Health presents Behling Race Equipment Heat 2. Trevor's Tate Hensley won the BR Motorsports presents King Race Products Heat 3. Kenosha's Bryce Andrews posted a :14.789 seconds qualifying lap to take the Body Craft of Antioch, IL Fast Qualifier honor.
"Finally it all came together," said a jubilant Raidart. "Have to thank my great team and supporters, as well as the faithful fans who came out."
Klemko, two-time and defending Wilmot Raceway track WingLESS champion, had his undefeated WingLESS feature win streak at the series original home track stopped, but continues to lead the overall series point standings heading to Sycamore Speedway in Illinois Saturday, May 31.
In addition to the AutoMeter Wisconsin WingLESS Sprints Powered By Gandrud Performance, a second IRA sanctioned division, the 11-75 Sports Complex & Eatery IRA Lightning Sprints are heading to Sycamore for the second time this season.
