Taylor Scores Wilmot WingLESS Win While Heinert Doubles In Lightnings

(Wilmot, Wis., Saturday, June 14, 2025)--Waukesha's Mark Heinert led flag to flag in the 20-lap 11-75 Sports Complex & Eatery IRA Lightning Sprints Feature to score his second Wilmot Raceway win of the season on Father's Day Weekend Special.
"We really thrashed on the car, but it was worth it as it ran anywhere I wanted to put it," said Heinert, dedicating the win to his Dad who was not at the track, and to other family members. "It will give us a nice Father's Day to celebrate."
The main was red flagged on lap seven when Jordan Funderburk of Wadsworth, IL flipped end over end several times in turn one. Nick Petska of Spring Grove, IL, who was also involved, retired for the night. Funderburk was not injured, but out for the night.
Heinert, who won the Game Day Men's Health presents Behling Race Equipment Heat 1, pulled away on the restart. Bristol's Tucker Richards finished second. Body Craft fast qualifier Brian Strane Jr. of Paris was third. Big Bend's Chad Stouthamer was fourth. Tim Brannam of Holiday Hills, IL fifth.

"I have to thank all of our supporters who work on this deal. Looking forward to being back at Wilmot in two weeks(June 28)."
The initial start of the main was aborted when several cars tangled on the back straightaway with Watertown's Jordan Miklas and Mitchell Reich of Waukegan, IL ending up getting upside down. Both were uninjured, but eliminated for the night along with Silver Lake's Ralph Johnson.
Brown Deer's John Fahl jumped out in front on the outside on lap 5, overtaking Nathan Crane of Waukegan, IL who jumped out in front from the start. A caution on lap 7 closed the field, with Taylor charging in front with 8 laps to.
With three laps remaining a final yellow flew. Crane came on during the final laps overtaking Fahl to finish runner-up. Fahl took third, Rusty Egan of Round Lake Beach, IL fourth and Tim Cox of Park City, IL fifth, as second through fifth crossed less than half second apart.
