May 22, 2025 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Pulaski, PA)...For the second straight year, Mother Nature has wreaked havoc with the early portion of the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Dirt Late Model Flynn's Tire/Gunter's Honey Touring Series season. After coming off two successful events May 10-11, which followed five straight rainouts to start the season, the events scheduled for Friday (May 23) at Outlaw Speedway and Saturday (May 24) at The Dirt Track at Genesee have been postponed due to unseasonably cold temperatures and rain in the forecast on top of rain leading up to the events. Weather permitting, Genesee will still host their regular program including the RUSH Late Models in a City Chevrolet Weekly Series program on Saturday. Sunday’s event at Tri-City Raceway Park is still on with sunshine and warmer temperatures in the forecast. Also on the card on Sunday are the RUSH Sportsman Modifieds. Warmups begin at 5:45 p.m.

This is the second straight year rain has claimed the Genesee event; however, new track promoter James Gayton is rescheduling the $4,000 to-win event part of the racing program during the Genesee County Fair on Tuesday, July 22. Stay tuned for a possible make-up date for the “Gary Montgomery Memorial” at Outlaw. It marked the fourth time in the last six years the Outlaw event hasn’t taken place between COVID-19 and rain.

"Mother Nature just hasn't cooperated with our spring schedule," acknowledged RUSH Director Vicki Emig. "Working with Outlaw's Tyler Siri and Genesee's James Gayton, we mutually felt like this was the best decision for all concerned due to the travel by so many of our teams. We appreciate Genesee rescheduling our event as several years ago we were part of their fair race, and we're working with Outlaw to come up with a possible make-up date. The weather is looking promising for Sunday at Tri-City."

One-year ago, Tri-City hosted the return by the Flynn's Tire/Gunter's Honey Tour event for the first time in six years. The event was won by Brock Pinkerous for his first career Tour win and celebrated in Landrum Performance Springs Victory Lane just as the rain began to fall. Pinkerous went on to win the $20,000 championship. The 2024 event over Labor Day weekend at Tri-City was cancelled due to rain.

The Flynn's Tire/Gunter's Honey Touring Series has made eight visits to Tri-City all-time with seven of them occurring from 2015-2018. Max Blair and Mike Pegher, Jr. each won a pair of events, while single victories have gone to Bryce Davis, Jeremy Wonderling, Brady Wonderling, and Pinkerous. Tri-City still owns the all-time highest car count for the RUSH Racing Series with 58 cars on September 11, 2016 for "Manufacturers Night" presented by MSD Performance! The Tour returns to Tri-City on Friday, August 29 for another $4,000 to-win show.

The 2025 Flynn’s Tire/Gunter’s Honey Tour kicked off on May 10 at Stateline Speedway where Max Blair won the $4,000 “Bill Law Memorial” over a Stateline record 49-car field. Blair closed out the weekend at Eriez on the 11th pocketing another $4,000- this time over a 43-car field, which was the highest car count at the northwest Pa. oval for any non-Manufacturers Night. Four-time Tour Champion, Jeremy Wonderling, pocketed $2,000 each night for finishing runner-up. Demetrios Drellos had a career best Tour finish of third at Stateline ashe leads the 3C Graphix Rookie-of-the-Year standings.

On Sunday, $100 "Shock the Clock" Qualifying and $25 to-win heat races will be presented by FK Rod Ends. The Sunoco Dash will set the beginning rows of the feature lineup and will award the winner a $100 Sunoco fuel gift card. The "Fill'er up with Sunoco Bucks" program co-presented by Bazell Race Fuels will include an additional $400 of Sunoco fuel card giveaways; two $100 random draws for drivers in the top 15 of 2024 Tour points and another four $50 random draws for all other competitors.

The podium finishers will each receive a three-pack of Heritage Wine Cellars premier products. Precise Racing Products will award a $50 gift card for the "Pedal Down" Hard Charger that passes the most cars in the feature. Ontime Body & Graphic's "Spoiler Alert" will award a spoiler kit to the third place finisher. The first feature non-qualifier will receive a $50 certificate from Holley Performance brands. There will also be five BOGO Landrum Performance Springs certificates given away through drawings. Forty lucky fans each night will receive a bottle of Dusted Steak Seasoning.
