Noah Ratcliff Steals Win from Andy Jodway at White Flag in Exciting Pathfinder Bank SBS Main

OSWEGO, NY (July 12, 2025) - On another hot summer night at Oswego Speedway, the always exciting Pathfinder Bank SBS division continued what has been a season of outstanding racing, and Saturday’s feature was no different as part of an action packed program presented by Barlow’s Concessions and Rupert’s Party Rentals.

Front row starters AJ Larkin and Cameron Rowe Jr. led the field to green, with Larkin grabbing the early advantage and pacing the opening lap of the 30-lap main event ahead of Tony DeStevens, Drew Pascuzzi, Andy Jodway, Noah Ratcliff, and Camden Proud. From his 12th starting spot, Proud wasted little time charging forward, advancing to sixth within the first lap, moving past the likes of Greg O’Connor, Brad Haynes, Carter Gates, Alex Hoag, Cameron Rowe Sr, and Rowe Jr.

Coming to complete lap 2, DeStevens made a move to the inside of Larkin to take over the top spot. Fifth-starting Pascuzzi and seventh-starting Jodway followed closely behind in the early stages.

Proud, a regular in the Novelis Supermodified division making his first SBS start in a couple of years, continued his early charge, working underneath both Larkin and Ratcliff to move up to fourth, but the Vashaw’s Collision yellow flag flew on lap 2 for Matt Matteson, who spun in turn three.

The ‘choose’ double-file restart now saw DeStevens and Pascuzzi on the front row, followed by Larkin and Jodway in row two, with Ratcliff and Proud making up row three.

On the restart, DeStevens maintained control of the race lead while Proud surged around the outside of Ratcliff and Larkin to move back into fourth. With the bottom lane now open going into turn number one, Jodway and Proud continued their charge, with the No. 66 and 54 both diving underneath Pascuzzi’s 72 to take over second and third, as Proud advanced from sixth to third.

A battle then developed for second between Jodway and Proud, who searched high and low for a way by the 2-time Mr. SBS champion. Meanwhile, Ratcliff worked past his teammate Pascuzzi for fourth and quickly closed the gap on the fight for second, setting up a fantastic three-car battle for position.

At the halfway point, DeStevens continued to lead the pack over Jodway, Proud, Ratcliff, Pascuzzi, Gates, O’Connor, Rowe, Hoag, and DJ Shuman.
As Proud was looking underneath Jodway with 12 laps remaining, Ratcliff began applying heavy pressure and eventually rolled around the outside to take over third. Not long after, the trio of Jodway, Ratcliff, and Proud quickly caught DeStevens, forming a four-car battle for the race lead.

With 10 to go, DeStevens pushed high in turns one and two, allowing Jodway - making just his second start at the Speedway in nearly 30 years - to take command of the race. Ratcliff and Proud also slipped by DeStevens into second and third.

From there, the front three stayed locked together, with Ratcliff looking for a way around Jodway on the outside, while Proud stayed right with them, searching for an opening to get back by Ratcliff. The battle for the top spot stayed tight through the closing laps, continuing what has been one of the most competitive SBS seasons in recent memory.

With five laps to go, Ratcliff made an aggressive move to the outside of Jodway but got loose in the process, allowing Proud to pull even to his inside for second. Ratcliff, however, was able to recover and hold tough on the top side, maintaining second as the front three continued to swap lanes and dice for position around the speedway.

Coming to the white flag out of turn four, Ratcliff executed a decisive move, pinning Jodway behind a lapped car, effectively setting a pick. With Jodway trapped low and Ratcliff riding the high road, Ratcliff took full advantage to capture the lead and ultimately the victory, as Jodway was left to fend Proud off for second.

Jodway, Proud, Pascuzzi, and O’Connor, starting from 11th, completed the top five. Rowe finished 6th, Shuman charged from 16th to 7th, Haynes was 8th, Hoag 9th, and Tessa Crawford had a strong run to finish 10th.

For Ratcliff, the 2023 SBS track champion, it was his fourth career feature win and second of the 2025 season, adding to his Opening Night triumph in the Tony White Memorial. With the victory, Ratcliff further extended his championship points lead.

In victory lane, Ratcliff said, “Andy (Jodway) ran great tonight - he was running a really tough line. I have to apologize to him, I don’t ever want to use the bumper on anyone, but I got a huge run going into the corner and couldn’t get it slowed up in time. I saw the lapped car coming and thought if I could pinch him down, I’d get a run, but if we stayed in clear track, I don’t know that I would have gotten him. I had a great race car, the car was really good today and I had a blast going back and forth with Camden (Proud) and Andy. I was pretty whooped after being in the heat all day, jumping between both cars, but after the last two weeks it was all worth it. I have so many people to thank - first off, my entire family, my wonderful girlfriend Kenzie, Travis, Marissa, Charlie Beaner, Drew, John, Uncle Darren, Olivia, the Brants, and especially Dave from Downforce Shocks by Eagle One, and always my sponsors: Jake’s Automotive, Total Fire Protection, Universal Metal Works, S&R Fuels, Smokin Coffee Xpress, Nation 2 Nation Tobacco Trading, KS Trucking, Dusting Divas, Barnett Forest Products, and Rupert Party Rentals.”

The Novelis Supermodifieds, Pathfinder Bank SBS, and Oswego County Tourism 350 Supers all return to the Steel Palace this Saturday, July 19, for a big night of racing presented by Children’s Museum of Oswego, Oswego County Habitat for Humanity, and Chase Enterprises. The event will also feature Autograph Night and a Bike Giveaway.
