MATT SHEPPARD CLAIMS MODIFIED OPENER AT UTICA-ROME SPEEDWAY
VERNON, NY.....Cloudy skies and rain in the area did not deter Utica-Rome Speedway as International Wire presented the racing action, with the regular racing divisons joined by the M2 Metal Crate Late Models for the program.

On the restart, Alex Yankowski moved into second and Matt Sheppard grabbed third. Yankowski slid off the track in turn 3 on lap 7 which put Sheppard into second. Alex Payne worked his way into the top five as Sheppard found traction to get by Trautschold on lap 9.
