Full Write Up Results for 6-14-25 - Mother Nature Won!

Mother Nature turned Saturday night into a game of dodgeball at Dirt’s Monster Half Mile, tossing showers and thunderstorms right at round one of the Stephen W. Johnson Triple Crown for the Auto House Hobby Stocks.

Despite the weather, the show went on. PPMS got in five heat races and ran three out of four feature events before the skies finally won.

Stephen Shelpman (17P), from Pleasant Hills, owned the night in the Hobby Stocks, locking up round one of the Triple Crown.

Tom Klein (77), from Rochester, celebrated a milestone moment by scoring his first-ever win in the Rohrich Automotive | Chevy Performance RUSH Late Model feature.

And AJ Poljak (36), from Baldwin, did what he does best—parked it up front again for another Pittsburgh Truck Center Penn Ohio Pro Stock victory.

Round one of the Stephen W. Johnson Triple Crown for the Auto House Hobby Stocks lined up with Cole Cochran (72), from Oakdale, on the pole and Marc Corio (14), from South Fayette, to his outside. Stephen Shelpman (17P) rolled off third, with Leroy Brown (40B) starting fourth.

When the green flag dropped, Shelpman wasted no time. He powered to the front early and never looked back. With the race running green to checkers without a hiccup, Shelpman cruised to a clean win to kick off the Triple Crown chase in style.

Corio crossed the line second, Janas (88) grabbed third, Brown settled for fourth, and Cochran rounded out the top five. Heat race winners were Shelpman and Brown.

After winning his heat and pulling P2 in the redraw, Tom Klein (77) lined up on the outside pole for the 20-lap Rohrich Automotive | Chevy Performance RUSH Late Model feature. Noah Brunell (31N), from New Alexandria, held the pole spot to his inside.

When the green flag dropped, Klein wasted no time. He jumped out front on lap one and never gave it back. With each circuit, the gap grew bigger, and by the time the checkers flew, Klein had built a half-track lead on the field to seal his first career Late Model win in dominant style.

Clinton Hersch (16) finished second, Tommy Schirnhofer (8S) crossed third, Brunell settled for fourth, and Kassidy Kamicker (72B) rounded out the top five.

AJ Poljak (36) wasted no time in the 15-lap Pittsburgh Truck Center Penn Ohio Pro Stock feature, grabbing the lead on lap one with Stephen Shelpman (17S) settling into second.

For ten laps, Poljak set the pace while the field tried to keep pace. But Mother Nature had other plans. A caution flew on lap 11 for Shelpman (17S), and as rain and lightning closed in fast, Officials called it for safety, and with the race past halfway, it went into the books.

Poljak claimed the win, Nick Kocuba took second, Brett McDonald (25) finished third, Logan Koteles (64K) crossed fourth, and Dale Tuche (310) rounded out the top five.
