Bowser Dominates 2nd Annual Down Carnahan Fantasy Cup Full Write Up Results

Saturday night at Dirt’s Monster Half Mile exploded into full-throttle drama as the 2nd Annual Dow Carnahan Fantasy Cup roared back with the FAST on Dirt 410 Sprint Cars leading the charge.

Carl Bowser (11), from Butler, muscled past a stacked field to claim the Fantasy Cup, while Brandon Burgoon from McDonald kept his hot streak alive in the Rohrich Automotive/Chevy Performance RUSH Late Model feature.

In the Penn Ohio Pro Stocks, Burgettstown’s Nick Kocuba (10) finally snapped through for his first win of the season, and South Fayette’s Marc Corio (14) doubled down in the Auto House Hobby Stocks with back-to-back victories.

Out in the Four Cylinders, New Cumberland’s Jacob Chipps (38) threaded a perfect line through chaos to pick up another feature win proof that on this clay oval, anything can happen.

Carl Bowser (11) and AJ Flick (2), from Apollo, squared off on the front row of the FAST on Dirt 410 Sprint Car 25-lap feature. When the green flag dropped, Bowser blasted ahead while Flick slotted into second and Tyler Gunn (68G), from Napoleon, Ohio, settled into third.

The lone caution flew on lap one when Michael Bauer (46) suffered trouble in turn four, but Bowser held the point perfectly on the single restart. Flick stayed glued to his bumper until Brandon Spithaler (32B) carved out third on lap ten.

Flick made a serious charge between laps 15 and 17, nearly stealing the lead, but Bowser dug deep, dug in, and reclaimed his cushion by lap eighteen. From there he powered to the checkers.

Flick finished second, Jason Schultz (35) drove to third, Gunn took fourth, and Spithaler rounded out the top five. Heat race winners were Bowser, Flick, and Schultz.

Brodie Oravetz (91), from Oakdale, led the field to green in the 20-lap Rohrich Automotive | Chevy Performance RUSH Late Model feature with Kyle Lukon (184), from Burgettstown, to his outside.

Oravetz slammed the cushion early, but Brandon Burgoon (5X) wasn’t far behind. By lap three he slipped into second, setting his sights on the leader.

When Burgoon powered past Oravetz on lap nine, the race flipped.

Five laps later, the leaders hit lapped traffic and Burgoon seized the moment, opening a gap that melted away any hopes of a counterattack.

He drove on to another feature win while Oravetz held second, Lukon finished third, Clinton Hersch (16) grabbed fourth, and Daryl Charlier (42) rounded out the top five.

Heat race honors went to Burgoon and Lukon.

Emmerson Laboon (114), from Jefferson Hills, grabbed the pole for the 15-lap Pittsburgh Truck Center Penn Ohio Pro Stock feature with Dale Tuche (310), from Cheswick, to her outside. In row two, Nick Kocuba (10) rolled off third and red-hot AJ Poljak (36), from Baldwin, lined up fourth.

When the green flag flew, Laboon stormed out front while Kocuba slotted into second. On lap four, Kocuba pounced, sliding under Laboon and never looking back. He controlled every lap from there to score his first win of the season.

Poljak raced to second, Laboon held third, and Tuche completed the four-car field.

The Pro Stocks did not run a heat race.

The Auto House Hobby Stock feature kicked off as Joe Brown Jr. (48), from Aliquippa, pulled the pole with Leroy Brown (40B), also from Aliquippa, to his outside.

When the green flag flew, Brown Jr. rocketed into the lead while Tom Anton (64), from Jefferson Hills, worked his way into second by lap three. A quick caution bunched the field, but Brown Jr. stayed perfect on the restart.

Leroy Brown grabbed the point on lap five and looked ready to run away with it. He held every lap until a caution on lap 13 set up a two-lap shootout.

In that final dash, Brown Jr.’s early strength paid off when Marc Corio (14) found the run he needed and nailed a last-lap pass for the win. Brown took second, Anton third, Karlee Kovacs (221K) fourth, and Kyle Janas (88) rounded out the top five.

Heat race honors went to Anton (64).

Crawford Auto Repair Open Four Cylinders closed out the night with a 12-lap thriller. Anthony Uddstrom (18), from Pittsburgh, grabbed the pole, flanked by Noah Bubeck (2), from Colliers, West Virginia.

At the drop of the green, Bubeck rocketed to the front while Tyler Hollister (69) settled into second and Jacob Chipps (38C) slotted in third.

Lap eight flipped the script. Chipps charged past and never looked back, powering through lapped traffic to secure his first win of the season.

Tyler Hollister held on for second, David Siebert (777) drove to third, Jacob Wiser (53) took fourth, and Mike Kelley (6) rounded out the top five.

Heat race victories went to Uddstrom and Chipps, setting the stage for even bigger battles next Saturday.

Racing ramps back up at Dirt’s Monster Half Mile next Saturday, July 19, for Berks $1 Hot Dog Night & the Willie White Memorial. This family-friendly celebration serves up the sizzling $1 hot dog deal alongside wheel-to-wheel thrills, headlined by the RUSH Wingless Sprint Cars battling for the Willie White trophy.

You’ll also see all-star action from the Rohrich Automotive | Chevy Performance RUSH Late Models, Auto House Hobby Stocks, Crawford Auto Repair Open Four Cylinders, and Kehm Oil Young Guns. Gates open at 5 PM, hot laps roll at 6 PM, and the green flag flies at 7 PM. Grab your tickets and bring the crew for a night where good food meets great racing.
