May 23 - 25 - MTH Mod Nationals Updates & Schedule of Events
MTH Mod Nationals presented by Wehrs Machine & Superior Fuel Updates from FYE Motorsports
Modifieds will continue to race for $2,500 to win each night. Super Stocks will pay $1,000 to win nightly. Mod Fours will race for $500 to win each night. Hornets will race for $250 to win each night as well, and as stated, Midwest Modifieds will race for $1,000 each of the three nights.
Midwest Modifieds will see a $1,000 Superior Fuel Co. Sweep Bonus added to the weekend, making a sweep bonus available for all five classes. Modifieds ($2,500), Super Stocks ($1,000), Mod Fours ($500), Hornets ($250) are also eligible for a sweep bonus if the same driver wins all three features over the weekend. *All three nights must be completed for the sweep bonus to be in effect.
As a reminder, the overall Modified point champion will receive an automatic provisional into the $125,000 to win XR Big Deal in July.
The Midwest Modified weekend point champion will receive a new spoiler kit from AT21 Spoilers.
A random driver that competes all three nights, drawn at the Sunday pit meeting, will win a $500 certificate off of a new Freedom Race Lift as well.
We have also removed the scheduled Thursday practice night from the weekend schedule. With some mid-week rain in the forecast, not having any on-track activities on Thursday will allow track staff to focus on getting the track and facility prepared for the weekend and with KRA, Grand Rapids and Sheyenne hosting their season openers that night, we have decided to not have a practice night.
The Midwest Modified pre-entry deadline has expired, and we have landed on 25 pre-entries, which as we told you earlier in the week, isn’t nearly enough to even consider running a $10,000 to win event. Its apparent people are not interested in that type of an event with that type of payout, so we have decided to revert the Midwest Modified portion of the event back to what it has been over the last several seasons – complete shows each night paying $1,000 to win nightly.
All 25 drivers that pre-entered will automatically have their pre-entry money refunded within the next 24hrs.
We hope to see everyone in Ogilvie next weekend.
