Troutman lands Top-10 finish in Dairyland Showdown at Mississippi Thunder
After Thursday night's opener was rained out, Drake Troutman continued his Rookie of the Year chase with the World of Outlaws on Friday night at Mississippi Thunder Speedway (Fountain City, Wis.) for the now two-day Dairyland Showdown.
Troutman was fourth-quickest in his qualifying group and earned a spot in the $25,000-to-win feature with a third-place finish in his heat. Drake started 11th in the 50-lap feature and slowed early in the event but rallied from the back and ran 13th.
For $30,000 on Saturday evening, Drake once again recorded a solid lap in time trials before finishing runner-up to Tyler Erb in his heat race. Troutman started from the fourth-row in the finale and came away with a Top-10 finish in eighth.
Troutman is currently fourth in the series point standings.
