2015 Wrap-Up
Dear Fans and Supporters,
The 2015 season has yet again been another one to put into the record books. With the season starting off rough in the Midwest Truck Series all the way until I recieved a last minute call to make my second NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start at Martinsville Speedway, there was never a dull moment! I also cannot express how fortunate I am to be able to do what I do and chase my goals. All the way from the coaching I do across the country, meeting and representing NASCAR legend Fred Lorenzen, to having the opportunities to race in NASCAR. I cannot thank everyone that is involved and that has gotten me to this point enough and I will not let you down with whatever the future may hold.
The racing in the Midwest that I have been doing the past few years started rough with getting into a wreck at the opening race of the season to having bad luck at the following, we knew something had to change. Doing the same thing over and over again is insanity. That was the time we decided to sell “Patches” and find our self a newer truck. The first race out with it no one could touch us. We were 2 Tenths of a second faster than the entire field the first time I stepped into it. We thought at that time our luck was about to change. As the year continued on, half of it was good and the other half was not. We were fast every week and qualifying on the pole just about every week but the starting orders of the races always tended to put us in a sticky situation for our short races. With the short amount of lap’s, we struggled to make our way from almost dead last each week to the front but still somehow managed to rack up a fair amount of 2nd place’s and Top 3’s. With the season going fair, we were in a tight points battle for the championship all year. Going into the last few races of the year things were starting to heat up. At the final race of the season in the Midwest Truck Series, contact was made with another truck causing us to go for a spin and lose the Championship. In the American Ethanol Truck Series, we had to do all that we could with the invert putting us in 2nd to last and the driver that we were battling the points championship with was put on the outside front row. I did all I could do and came from 10th to 2nd in the short 40 lap race but that just wasn’t enough to capture the championship.
Some may not know but I traveled as much as I could with NASCAR World Truck Series Team, SS Green Light Racing, not only to network but to learn as much as I possibly could while working in the shop. I ended off the year with them at Texas, Phoenix, and Homestead Miami. But the real fun came when I received a call on Monday evening October 26th about a last minute driver being needed and I was the one in conversation. I had a day and a half to be able to find the small amount of funding needed and by Wednesday October 28th at 1pm I still it. I needed to leave late that night to get to the track by Thursday afternoon. By 2:30, my phone started ringing off the hook and I cannot thank those last minute partners and contributors enough! If it was not for the following people, that last minute opportunity would not have been possible what so ever. Nortown Automotive, Racinghalloffamecollection.com, Tinkle Family Racing, Racingin.com, Ronald McDonald House Charities-CNI, Car Doctor Jr., O'Hare Auto Body, Mark Signs, True Power Racing Oil, Larry and Nicky Liotta, David and Kyle Brinkmann, TJ Harron Photography, and Mitch Garfield. As well as, Rick Ware Racing, MAKE Motorsports and SS Green Light Racing for the opportunity. Thank you. If it wasn’t for the great supporters and partners like you for believing in me I would not be where I am in my career today.
Plans for the 2016 season are still up in the air. I will still be on the hunt for partners to continue on my NASCAR career as well as potential Super Truck and Super Late Model racing. I will continue the coaching that I do and in hopes at a grander scale. I will do whatever it takes to get to where I need to be and with that being said, I want to leave you with this. A Brazilian athlete once said, “Never give up, and be confident in what you do. There may be tough times, but the difficulties which you face will make you more determined to achieve your objectives and to win against all the odds.”. That is exactly what I plan to do. Beat all Odds. So many people say it is impossible and that it is only a dream. Dreams and Goals are two different things. A Dream is something you hope to obtain one day but you can live without. A Goal is something you set for yourself to achieve and that you will achieve no matter what. This is my goal. Once again, Thank you to all of my partners and fans for their support this past season. I will not let you down in the upcoming years and I wish you and your Family a Happy Holiday season!
