Jason Feger Captures Week One Crown with Two Summer Nationals Wins
DIRTcar Hell Tour Continues Monday at Wilmot Raceway
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (06/16/25) – Jason Feger opened the DIRTcar Summer Nationals with an impressive first week, scoring two feature victories to claim the Week One points title behind the wheel of his Titan Industries / Remtek Enterprises / Show Circuit Online Sales No. 25 Longhorn Chassis Late Model.
The 2010 Hell Tour champion bookended the opening stretch with a $5,000 win at Sycamore Speedway on Sunday, adding to his earlier triumph in Tuesday’s second round at Kankakee County Speedway.
Sunday’s victory marked Feger’s sixth of the season and the 32nd of his DIRTcar Summer Nationals career.
“Well it’s been a rough start to the year for us, but I feel like we’ve been working really hard and getting better and better. It feels good to get a win with Summer Nationals early on the tour, second night, I mean that takes that pressure off, so now we can just focus on racing,” Feger said in victory lane at Kankakee. “It ended up being a pretty good race. I felt like there early I could maneuver really well, top, bottom, middle and towards the end though, it definitely started getting where you had to be up top.”
The demanding five-race swing that opened the DIRTcar Summer Nationals began Tuesday at Brownstown Bullring, where 44 entries filled the pit area. Feger advanced two positions in the 40-lap feature to notch an eighth-place finish in the opener.
On Wednesday at Kankakee County Speedway, Feger lived up to his “Highside Hustler” nickname, charging around the cushion en route to a flag-to-flag victory in the 30-lap main event.
After relying on a provisional to start Thursday’s main event at Peoria Speedway, Feger battled from the tail of the field to salvage a 19th-place finish.
Following a rainout Friday at Tri-City Speedway, Feger joined a stout 57-car field at Fairbury Speedway on Saturday for the weekend's marquee $10,000-to-win A-Main. He led laps 29 through 37 before ultimately finishing second behind Brian Shirley.
Carrying a seven-point lead over Billy Moyer into Sunday’s Week One finale at Sycamore Speedway, Feger sealed the deal on the opening week title with a dominant 30-lap victory—his second $5,000 triumph of the week.
"Man, the car was really good," Feger added. "That's a case (where) Brian's out leading and doesn't know where I am. The track ended up being really racy. I mean, everybody thought it was bottom dominant, but we was able to get (higher on the track) and move around in the crumbs and it was a really good track, I felt like. Brian probably didn't really know and you know it's a lot different when you chase or when you lead."
In addition to his pair of wins, Feger pocketed a $10,000 bonus for claiming the Week One points championship.
