Moving On Up!
Lincoln,IL - Max Pozsgai and the Pozsgai Motorsports team continued the solid start to the 2013 campaign notching a 10th place run Friday night at the Belle Clair Speedway and a strong 5th place drive at Macon Speedway the following evening. After the 2 strong runs this weekend, Max now sits in 3rd place in the Speedway Motors Powri National Micro Sprint Points standings.
Max started the night in Belleville finishing 3rd in heat 3 lining him up inside row 6 for the feature. Max moved up to 8th almost immediately and ran there most of the race before fading to 10th at the finish. "We had a strong racecar but just couldn't move forward like we wanted, said Max. We need to keep improving here for the Mike Phillips Memorial race that pays $10,000 to win in July."
Heading East to the Mighty Macon Speedway on Saturday night, the 7x crew started the night well going 6th to 2nd in the heat race earning enough passing points for the pole in the feature. "We tried to get the jump on DK (3x Powri Champ Derek King) on the start but he was too strong on the top, so we settled into 3rd behind him and Cale Thomas, Max said." After battling with Aaron Andruskevitch for the final spot on the podium for most of the race, Max was nipped at the line for 4th, also,and wound up 5th. "We had a great car the whole night, and I felt we were right there. We are definitely making strides in the right direction."
The next race on the Speedway Motors Powri Micro Sprint Schedule is Friday, June 31st at the 3/8 mile Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, IL.
