Wenger attends FALS Spring Shootout at Fairbury
McKay Wenger made the short trip to Fairbury Speedway on Saturday as the quarter-mile oval welcomed some of the nation's top talent for the final round of Illinois Speedweek.
Competing against a stout field of 44 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series entries for the $30,000-to-win FALS Spring Shootout, Wenger impressed in qualifying by timing near the top of his stacked group. However, he slipped to a fourth-place finish in his heat race.
Lining up on the front row of the B-Main for one final shot at transferring into the main event, Wenger’s night came to disappointing end after his right-rear tire became packed with mud, dropping him outside a transfer spot.
