ROBELINE, La. (03/31/25) – Cade Dillard checked another coveted win off his bucket list over the weekend as he conquered the King of America XIV on Saturday night at Lucas Oil Speedway in his S&S Fishing & Rental / Joel’s Auto Sales / Strength Roofing & Siding No. 97 CDR Race Cars Modified.

The Robeline, Louisiana native, who inherited a preliminary victory earlier in the week after the original race-winner was penalized for a deck height infraction, cemented his dominance with a $20,000 payday in Saturday night’s United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) finale.

“Just fortunate to be able to race like I have, with a lot of long runs,” Dillard said. “We had a really good car and were able to maintain on the bottom. When we got to second and picked the pace up a little bit, when that caution came out I was able to hit my marks just right and got a good run.”

Seeking redemption after a heartbreaking flat tire in the XR Dominator, Cade Dillard returned to his Modified roots on Thursday afternoon for the King of America XIV at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.).

With 72 United States Modified Touring Series entries amassed for the three-day event, Dillard opened up the extended weekend with a $2,000 preliminary victory on Thursday before recording a podium finish on Friday evening.

Dillard’s results on Thursday and Friday secured him a fourth-row starting position for Saturday's finale.

Starting seventh in the 60-lap finale on Saturday, Cade Dillard steadily worked his way to the front and claimed the lead following a late restart with less than 20 laps remaining. He paced the final 16 laps to secure the $20,000 victory, finishing ahead of Friday's winner, Jim Chisholm, with Bobby Williams rounding out the podium.

The victory marked his third Modified triumph of the season and fourth overall.

After celebrating in USMTS Victory Lane with his family and crew, Dillard expressed his desire to capture the Modified crown jewel at the prestigious Missouri facility.

“This King of America is something I've always wanted to win,” Dillard noted. “I've won a lot of big Late Model races, but I love coming back and getting to race in Mod races like this.”

Dillard is set to take the upcoming weekend off before returning to Lucas Oil Speedway to compete in his Super Late Model at the 12th annual Spring Nationals, scheduled for April 11-12. The unsanctioned doubleheader will kick off with a $7,000-to-win A-Main, followed by Saturday's finale, which features a $20,000 top prize.
