Gregg Satterlee Scores First Win of 2025 at Port Royal Speedway

Pennsylvania Racer Pockets $4,000 Payday

INDIANA, Pa. (04/22/25) – The 2025 season is officially rolling for Gregg Satterlee, who notched his first win of the year with a $4,000 triumph at Port Royal Speedway aboard his Satterlee Motorsports / Keyser Manufacturing No. 22 Rocket Chassis / Clements Racing Engine-powered Super Late Model.

The Indiana, Pennsylvania native ended Rick Eckert’s recent three-race win streak to claim his 21st career victory at the half-mile oval.

“Yeah, I was trying to be patient and not put myself in a bad position,” Satterlee said in victory lane regarding the lap-19 caution for track debris. “I couldn’t see who was behind me but I could see they were closing in pretty quickly, so I was glad to see the yellow. We had a really good car, thanks to my crew chief Robby [Allen], Drew [Walters], my dad, and everyone who helps out on this thing. I couldn’t do it without all of you.”

Gregg Satterlee kicked off his weekend on Friday afternoon at Selinsgrove (PA) Speedway, taking part in the track’s rain-delayed season opener aboard his Satterlee Motorsports No. 22 Late Model.

With the event drawing 27 Super Late Models, Satterlee laid down the second-fastest lap in his time trial group before placing first in his heat. Lining up fifth for the $5,000-to-win A-Main, Satterlee set his sights on toppling the in-form Rick Eckert in the 25-lap affair. After overtaking early leader Hayes Mattern on lap 13, Satterlee steadily reeled in Eckert during the closing laps, ultimately coming up just short with a strong runner-up finish—trailing by only 0.188 seconds at the checkered flag.

Shifting to Port Royal Speedway on Saturday night, Gregg delivered an impressive sweep of the evening’s program. He backed up fast time honors with a wire-to-wire heat race win, then led all 25 laps of the feature to secure his first victory of the 2025 season. A lap-19 caution tightened the field, but Satterlee held off challenges from Rick Eckert and Max Blair to pocket the $4,000 winner’s check.
The triumph marked his 21st career victory at the Pennsylvania oval.
