Fending off a talent laden field of 29 drivers, Ray Kable III of Westminster, Maryland claimed his first victory Saturday at Hagerstown Speedway, becoming the 4th winner in 5 events in Late Model Sportsman action. Well known and accomplished in the UMP Modified ranks, Kable has been working diligently on a LMS program the last few weeks, which finally paid off with Saturdays victory. Starting third, Kable quickly shot by the front row of Cody Lear and Lane Snook, establishing a small lead. Snook, one of the hottest drivers in the region, and fresh off a victory Friday at Bedford, challenged Kable multiple times on restarts. However, the third- generation driver was up to the task, taking his 1st in LMS competition. Snook rolled home second, with Ryan Zook, Brian Booze, and Wesley Bonebrake rounding out the top five. Bonebrake, the most recent winner, had to charge from 21st after having to qualify through the Last Chance Qualifier. Lear, Snook, and Kable were the heat race winners.

For the second time this season, the IMCA Racesaver Sprints made an appearance at Hagerstown. A combined 31 cars from the PASS 305 Sprints, Virginia Sprint Series, and the Laurel Highlands Sprint group provided some great action with Kenny Heffner of Watsontown, Pa claiming his first win of the season and seventh of his career. Heffner battled for the lead with Drew Young for many laps before taking the lead halfway through the event. A late race caution set up a 1 lap dash to the finish, with Heffner holding on for the win. Young came home second, followed by Kolby Weaver, Ken Duke Jr, and Erin Slater. Heats for the 31 cars went to Kasey Weaver, Erin Statler, Duke, and Young.

Coming onto Saturdays Semi Late Feature, the class boasted 4 winners in as many events. With 3 of the 4 past winners on hand, Steve Kent of Woodsboro, Maryland, the week 3 winner, batted 1,000, taking the top qualifying effort early in the evening, rolling a #1 on the redraw, then leading every lap of the 15 lap main event to become the tracks first repeat winner of the season. Bryan Kerns, the most recent race winner, came home a solid second, with Jason Geesaman, Brady Neff, and Dillon Wilson rounding out the top five.

In the 15 lap nightcap for the Pure Stocks, it took every lap, as well as the final few inches at the flagstand to determine the winner, as Evan Faust of Knoxville, Maryland, notched his first win of the season. Faust, along with points leader and 2 time winner Keith Reed, waged a race long battle for the lead, with Faust edging Reed by mere inches at the stripe. Randy Linaburg, Dylan Beavers, and William Ecton Jr completed the top five, with Reed and Beavers taking the heat race wins.

This Saturday, Hagerstown will present Military Appreciation Night at the Speedway. All members of the military will be admitted free of charge upon presentation of their military ID. The Late Model Sportsman, Booze Brothers Performance Crate Late Models, Semi Lates, and Pure Stocks will be in action. Pit Gates open at 4:30, Grandstands at 5pm, with warmups slated for 7.
