MURPHY ON THE TOP STEP AT JEFFERSON

Coming off of a solid debut but coming up short at the Dells Raceway Park, Camden and the CMR team knew this was the one. Having never been at the track before, Camden talked to a few drivers that have been there for little tips and tricks about the tricky ¼ Mile racetrack weeks prior to prepare as much as he could. He even watched YouTube videos to get an idea what the track was like.

Right out of the trailer the truck was fast but needed a few gear changes to get it close to where it needed to be. They didn’t have the one they needed so they had to settle for what they had. Since there were only 2 practice sessions, the team wanted to make the most out of them as some drivers have had more laps on track that day than Camden. We decided to not scuff in the new Hoosier F25’s and F48’s prior to qualifying.

The Lucky 7 Memorial Shootout had 2 feature races and for the first 25 lap race Camden started up front. At the drop of the Green he never looked back and captured the victory! For the second 25 lap event Camden started in the 6th position. As soon as the green flag dropped Camden was on his way to the front. As the laps wound down, he was slowly closing in on the Ethanol powered Truck of Kevin Knuese but just didn’t have enough time to make the pass.

With a Win in the first feature and a 2nd place in the second feature, that put Camden on the top step for the night. After hard work and dedication, the CMR team is on the top step and has the confidence to take home a few more in this 2015 season.
