Cody Thompson
8th-place result for Thompson at Beatrice
Cody Thompson has always struggled at Beatrice (Nebraska) Speedway, but he finished in the top 10 at the track on Saturday in the IMCA Modified portion of the 32nd annual Spring Nationals.
After Mother Nature postponed the event by a week, Thompson was among 24 Modified competitors at the 3/8-mile clay oval when racing kicked off on Friday. He drove his Reich Painting & Decorating No. 25c machine to results of first and third in his heat races that night.
On Saturday, Thompson started sixth in the 30-lap, $5,000-to-win feature and finished eighth.
