Late tangle at FALS derails Wenger's bid for first win of 2025

McKay Wenger rejoined the DIRTcar Summer Nationals over the weekend as Farmer City Raceway hosted Round 14 of the grueling Hell Tour.

Following a strong qualifying effort on Friday, Wenger’s night was cut short after he was caught in an early-race tangle during his heat, sidelining him for the remainder of the program.

Looking to rebound on Saturday at Fairbury Speedway, Wenger clocked the third-fastest time in his qualifying group before charging to a heat race victory. In a wild 30-lap feature that saw four different drivers lead at various points, Wenger found himself out front on the final circuit. However, a failed slide job attempt from another competitor ended his bid for the win. He was ultimately credited with a sixth-place finish.
