Ward earns top-10 finish at Casino Speedway in WISSOTA Late Model Challenge Series
A pair of WISSOTA Late Model Challenge Series events were on the docket for Morgan Ward and her Cains Designs & Wraps No. 37JR team over the weekend. She turned in a best result of eighth on Sunday night.
The first of Ward's two races was on Friday, when she competed in a 24-car Late Model field at Montevideo, Minnesota’s Fiesta City Speedway. She finished sixth in her heat race on the 3/8-mile track and started 17th in the 40-lap, $3,000-to-win feature. She was unable to finish and came home 22nd.
Ward next hit the dirt on Sunday, turning in a much stronger night competing among 21 Late Models at the quarter-mile Casino Speedway in Watertown, South Dakota. She nabbed the second spot in her heat, positioning her sixth to begin the $3,000-to-win A-Main. She ran inside the top five for much of the race before ultimately finishing eighth.
