Wil Herrington scores $3,500 triumph at Potomac Speedway with Bruce Kane Racing
Finishes Second in Schaeffer’s Spring Nationals Point Standings
HAWKINSVILLE, Ga. (05/29/25) – While Mother Nature dictated much of the weekend's schedule, Wil Herrington managed to dodge the weather on Sunday, driving the Bruce Kane Racing / All About Doors No. 15K Rocket Chassis Late Model to victory lane at Potomac Speedway.
The Hawkinsville, Georgia native led all 35 laps of the Memorial 35 at the Maryland oval, securing his second win of the season along with a $3,500 payday.
“Rainouts are always a bummer, but it’s great to end the weekend on a high note,” Herrington said. “Big thanks to Bruce Kane for the opportunity to drive the car. We had some bad luck earlier in the year, but I think we’re finally starting to turn the corner. Excited for the rest of the season.”
An action-packed Memorial Day weekend began Friday at Sugar Creek Raceway, where Herrington kicked off competition in the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals with a strong showing—qualifying third-fastest in his group to secure a spot in the evening’s feature. Competing for an $8,553 top prize, Herrington finished 10th in the main event.
Following the rainouts of Saturday’s event at North Georgia Speedway and Sunday’s Spring Nationals finale at Duck River Raceway Park, Herrington was awarded a $5,053 payday for finishing second in the tour’s final point standings.
Bruce Kane Racing closed out the holiday weekend with a visit to Potomac Speedway where the team ended the night in victory lane. Herrington followed up a heat race win with a flag-to-flag performance in the 35-lap feature.
The $3,500 payday marked Herrington’s third victory of the season.
